Barry Gilder is an author and a veteran of the struggle against apartheid. His non-fiction book Songs and Secrets: South Africa from Liberation to Governance was published in 2012. His novel The List was released in September 2018. His second novel At Fire Hour – done for a PhD in creative writing – was published in 2023. He currently freelances as an editor and proofreader.
